Our Story
March 19, 2020. Just after the world went into lockdown,
we started Wine & Vinyl Hour with one simple goal:
to bring some good vibes into people's lives.
The concept was simple.
Mayer Hawthorne would dig into his vast record collection,
spin some of his favorite music, open a bottle of wine,
and share the experience with everyone watching.
It became a weekly ritual and something to look forward to
during an incredibly difficult time.
The pandemic may be behind us, but that spirit remains.
Wine & Vinyl Hour has since evolved into
Wine & Vinyl Collectors Club.
And now, in late summer 2026,
we're thrilled to finally bring WVCC to Japan!
Mayer Hawthorne
Mayer Hawthorne is a singer-songwriter, producer, and DJ from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Since his debut in 2008, he has earned widespread acclaim for his distinctive blend of soul, R&B, and hip-hop, with recognition from publications including Rolling Stone, GQ, and The New York Times Magazine.
His musicianship has also earned the respect of fellow artists. He opened for Amy Winehouse on her final tour, supported Bruno Mars on two tours, and has collaborated with Pharrell Williams. John Mayer famously named Hawthorne's debut record his "Album of the Year."
In recent years, Hawthorne has continued to make his mark as a producer, contributing to "Options" from Doja Cat's double-platinum album Planet Her, earning him another Grammy nomination.
During the pandemic, he launched Wine & Vinyl Hour, a livestream from his home where he spun rare records while enjoying wine. The community that grew around those sessions eventually evolved into what is now Wine & Vinyl Collectors Club (WVCC).
Known as one of the world's most dedicated record collectors, Hawthorne is also an accomplished DJ, having played parties for Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian, as well as events for brands and publications including Levi's and GQ. His passion spans music, wine, design, and lifestyle, bringing together a community of creators and music lovers around the world.

We select wines from around the world, with a focus on organically farmed, low-intervention, natural, and sustainably produced wines. Each edition features a different selection curated by Mayer Hawthorne, which may include red, white or orange, and sparkling wines.
Q. Can I choose the record or wines?
No. Each WVCC set pairs a record selected by Mayer Hawthorne with wines curated to complement its sound, mood, and atmosphere. Part of the WVCC experience is discovering the pairing when it arrives.
Q. What kind of music will the record feature?
The genre changes with each edition, but every record is selected by Mayer Hawthorne with the wine pairing in mind. From soul, jazz, funk, and R&B to rock and beyond, WVCC is an invitation to discover new music and experience it alongside wine.
Q. Can I cancel my order?
Orders may be cancelled during the order acceptance period. Please contact WineBox through our contact page.
Q. Can I return my order?
Returns cannot be accepted for reasons of personal preference, such as not liking the selected record or wines. Returns will only be accepted in the event of a defective or damaged product.
